Pastoral life at the high school

Mutual support, meeting witnesses, flexible preparation for the sacraments and special events.

Pastoral life day to day

Pastoral life at the high school is reflected more in everyday attitudes than in strict religious practice.

We look for ways to broaden young people’s horizons for reflection and personal growth, alongside their introduction to the world of work:

  • mutual support initiatives (collections within the school)
  • openness to the world through meeting witnesses.

Passing on the faith

Pastoral life supports high school pupils who wish to prepare to receive a sacrament:

  • Baptism
  • First Communion
  • Confirmation

This preparation is tailored to each pupil, according to the constraints of their timetable, particularly work placements.

Highlights of the year

Several initiatives and events mark the year

  • a soup distribution with the Order of Malta France to mark the World Day of the Poor
  • the Food Bank collection with the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul
  • visits to elderly residents of a care home in Châtellerault
  • an apple-and-pasta meal on Good Friday, offered to all pupils, in aid of a charity

With the Youth Service of the Diocese of Poitiers

  • an annual pilgrimage to Lourdes or Mont Saint Michel
