Two centuries of history in the heart of Châtellerault, and one constant ambition: to help young people grow into fulfilled, independent individuals who are open to the world.

Our full history
  1. 1824

    Father Arnaudeau founds Christian schools in Châtellerault, entrusting them to the Brothers of Saint-Gabriel and the Sisters of Wisdom.

  2. 1919

    The Bishop of Poitiers entrusts the Saint-Gabriel institution to the priests of the diocese.

  3. 1973

    Saint-Gabriel and Notre-Dame merge, giving rise to Institution Saint-Gabriel Notre-Dame.

  4. 2023

    Opening of the higher education division and work-study BTS courses.

  5. 2024

    The Institution celebrates its 200th anniversary.

We are proud to be celebrating an exceptional milestone: our institution’s 200th anniversary. Since its foundation by the Brothers of Saint-Gabriel, our school has stood out for its commitment to promoting the values of education, solidarity and respect.

Inspired by the legacy of our founders, we continue to help young people grow into fulfilled, independent individuals who are open to the world, through educational excellence rooted in a humanist tradition.

Welcome to the website of Saint-Gabriel Notre-Dame nursery and primary school. From the youngest nursery class (TPS) up to CM2, the school is the first of the four schools that make up Institution Saint-Gabriel Notre-Dame.

It is the Institution’s foundation, and it rises to a challenge: preserving the historical heritage that has been its soul for 200 years, while embracing innovative teaching and openness to a changing society.

Our school proudly upholds the values of its Catholic identity and supports children with high-quality teaching in a carefully designed environment, so that they can learn with enjoyment and peace of mind.

Our goal: for pupils at Institution Saint-Gabriel Notre-Dame to enjoy a school experience that prepares them for a conscious and responsible adult life.

Admissions

Pre-registration open

Each admission begins with a meeting with one of the heads of school, followed by a meeting with the bursar. Parents attend the appointment with their child.
